Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville has paid an emotional tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton following the death of the Old Trafford icon on Saturday afternoon.
It was a tragic day for Manchester United as Bruno Fernandes laid out a wreath in memory of the United icon and it was a goal from outside of the box that won the Red Devils the game.
Diogo Dalot’s brilliant curling effort against the Blades with 15 minutes to go was a fitting way for the Red Devils to win the game and the raw emotion of that moment from the man of the match was clear for all to see.

Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast on Sky Sports, the Englishman believes that Sir Bobby Charlton is the greatest-ever English player to play the game.
“I think he is the greatest English football player of all time, winning the World Cup, the Ballon d’Or, the European Cup and the impact he’s had by winning all those trophies but also just his longevity at Manchester United,” Neville said.
“He played over 700 games, which is just unbelievable, over 100 games for England and if you think about his journey as a youth player and it’s what I always think of; three consecutive Youth Cups at United.
“Sir Bobby Charlton is an icon, a legend, those words that get used, he is the genuine legend of Manchester United. He’s the only player to play for the club that’s had a stand named after him.”

The Red Devils players wore black armbands during the game and after the win in Yorkshire, the United players and manager Erik ten Hag signed a book of condolences for the great man.
The book already has over 1,000 messages for the United icon with more set to be left as the days go by.
There is also set to be more tributes paid to Charlton at United’s next home game against FC Copenhagen.
