Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville dropped his clear prediction for Manchester United under Ruben Amorim for the remainder of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
Ruben Amorim faces an uphill task at Old Trafford after he succeeded Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager.
Former United manager Erik ten Hag was axed by the Premier League club in late October after a disastrous start to the 2024-25 season.
United were left in 14th place in the Premier League table after Ten Hag’s dismissal, with Ruud van Nistelrooy installed as interim manager in October.
Ruud van Nistelrooy won three matches and picked up a draw during his four-match interim spell before the United legend left Old Trafford in November.
Amorim arrived at the Red Devils at the start of the November international break and the United manager did not retain Van Nistelrooy for his coaching staff.
United agreed to bring the 39-year-old Portuguese manager to Old Trafford in November after activating the £9.25m release clause in his Sporting CP deal.

Neville’s Man Utd prediction
Manchester United are 13th in the Premier League table after 16 league matches played and the Red Devils are six points adrift from the top four.
Ruben Amorim has overseen two wins, one draw and two defeats in the Premier League as United manager since his arrival from Sporting CP.
United secured an important three points on Sunday after the Red Devils staged a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against Manchester City at the Etihad.
Speaking on The Overlap US’ ‘It’s Called Soccer’ show, Gary Neville revised his top-four predictions and the United legend snubbed the Red Devils from his picks.
“I’m going to go with Arsenal [to win the title] on the basis that I think they’ll hit their form,” he said.
“They’ve got a decent run of fixtures over Christmas, I think they’ll get within a couple of points, a few points, and I think they will hit their form in the new year and I do think they will win the league this season.
“Top four… I’ve not got full faith in Tottenham, Aston Villa and, to be fair, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and all the other teams that are in and around it.
“I think it will be City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal at this moment in time. It’s the first time I haven’t said United will be in the top four, I think, in about 15 years!”
Amorim asked about Premier League top four
Amorim could still defy the odds and lead United to a Champions League qualification spot, despite the Red Devils’ inconsistent form this season.
However, even the United manager recognised the huge task ahead of him and played down the Red Devils’ chance of finishing in the top four.
Speaking after the 4-0 demolition of Everton earlier this month, Amorim said: “If I say no, you will say I cannot be a Manchester United coach but I want to be honest with our fans.
“Let’s focus on the performances and not the results and we’ll see in the end.
“In the end, I said this many times, I will be judged about the place that we finish. I know that. Let’s focus on the next game and look at the performance.”
