Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher could not see eye to eye over Manchester United being a potential destination for one Premier League star.
Ruben Amorim’s men played their final match of March earlier this month after Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
The Red Devils currently have United first-team players away from Old Trafford on international duty after the start of the March international break.
Ruben Amorim’s side are 13th in the Premier League table after United’s victory over Leicester City and the Red Devils are currently 12 points adrift from the top four.
United have only managed 10 league wins from 29 matches and the Red Devils have only nine matches remaining in their 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
However, Amorim’s men are still in Europe and will resume their Europa League campaign in April when they meet Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in the quarter-finals.

Man Utd legend Gary Neville offers alternative view to Jamie Carragher on Newcastle striker Alexander Isak
Ruben Amorim is expected to begin the major overhaul of the United squad that he inherited from former Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag in the summer transfer window.
The 40-year-old United manager has watched the Red Devils lack a consistent goalscorer in the final third since his arrival from Sporting CP in 2024.
Joshua Zirkzee has been met with criticism over his goalscoring output this season, while Rasmus Hojlund has only seen a turnaround in form in recent weeks.
Alexander Isak has had an impressive season with the Newcastle and 25-year-old Sweden striker has attracted intense transfer interest amid his current run of form.
The Newcastle star, who is under contract until 2028, has netted an impressive 23 times in 33 matches across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign.
Speaking on The Overlap’s ‘It’s Called Soccer’ show, Gary Neville suggested that United could be one potential destination for a red-hot player like Isak.
“The reality is Newcastle are a great football club and we didn’t see that anymore [than] as we did on Sunday [the final],” he said.
“But they [Newcastle’s top stars] will want to play for the Real Madrids, Liverpools, Manchester Uniteds and Bayern Munichs of this world, it’s just natural that these players will want to play at those clubs at some point, if they can.”
Jamie Carragher pushes back on Gary Neville over Man Utd’s transfer appeal for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak
Jamie Carragher, on the other hand, did not hold the same view as Neville and ruled out United being a leading club should they enter the race to sign Alexander Isak.
The 47-year-old Liverpool legend insisted that either Arsenal or the Reds would be the two major options for in-form Newcastle and Sweden striker Isak.
“I think the only two options [for Isak] at the moment would be Arsenal and Liverpool as they’re both sort of crying out for a striker,” Carragher said, as per TEAMtalk.
“I just look at how long he’s got left on his deal and the ball is in Newcastle’s court, it’s not really in Isak’s.
“I think once you get [down] to two years [on the contract], it’s almost a 50-50, no-one wants to get down to 12 months.”
United return to Premier League action on 1st April with their visit to City Ground to face Nottingham Forest, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
