Last week was a tough one for Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana amid another Champions League defeat.
An error from Onana led to United conceding a penalty and having a man sent off, losing control of the game in the 3-2 loss to Galatasaray.
It was a chastening night for the Cameroon international, but he has received a show of support from one of the starters on the Galatasaray team.
Andre Onana receives support
Andre Onana did not have another smooth afternoon in the win over Brentford at the weekend, with many supporters feeling he should have done better for the goal.
It was not a costly one this time, with Manchester United going on to win 2-1 in injury time thanks to a Scott McTominay brace.
Onana posted a message on Instagram after the win, reflecting on the team overcoming a difficult moment.
He said: “It has not been the start to the season that we wanted. Very, very important victory, worth more than three points. We are @manchesterunited.”
He received a response from Galatasaray star Davinson Sanchez, a starter at Old Trafford last week, who wrote simply: “Big brother.”
Sanchez and Onana used to play together at Ajax and retain a strong bond despite playing for rival clubs.
A chance to reset
It has been a tough start to the season for Manchester United, with home and away defeats over the past month.
The fixtures get tougher after the international break, but United will hope to start getting players back from various injuries.
Saturday’s win showed there is a strong team spirit with the team pulling together, that was evident from the emotional celebrations at full time.
