Gabby Agbonlahor has made a surprising claim that only two Manchester United players would get into the Aston Villa first team.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have started the season very well and find themselves sitting fifth in the Premier League table, four points clear of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in eighth.
The Red Devils have had a rather atrocious start to the season and Agbonlahor, who isn’t afraid to make some wild statements, has done so once again.
The former Villa striker, so maybe take his opinion with a pinch of salt, has named his combined 11 between the two sides.

Agbonlahor’s team
“My team now, I have taken some Manchester United players out,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT.
“So I have got [Emiliano] Martinez in goal, I have got Matty Cash at right-back. [Esri] Konsa, has been outstanding at centre-half with [Pau] Torres. Left-back I have got [Lucas] Digne – [he’s] not even my first-choice left-back, [Alex] Moreno is injured!
“In midfield, I have gone for Douglas Luiz, John McGinn and [Boubacar] Kamara. On the left I have gone for Marcus Rashford and cutting in from the right is Bruno Fernandes, and [Ollie] Watkins up front.”
Despite the Midlands side starting the season incredibly well, only including two United players against a side like Villa is simply ludicrous.
United players would be in
Surely Raphael Varane, Casemiro, despite his sluggish start to the season, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez get into the combined team.
This quartet were crucial for the Red Devils achieving Champions League football last season. Diogo Dalot, too, has been outstanding this season so having him over Matty Cash would be a sensible option.
Whether this form for Emery’s side will continue remains to be seen but it does seem a very outlandish opinion from Agbonlahor, and it’s fair to say we’ve seen a few of those this season.
