Frenkie de Jong 'likes' agent's post on Tyrell Malacia confirmed Manchester United transfer

Tyrell Malacia’s transfer to Manchester United was confirmed on Tuesday, with the left-back becoming the first signing of the Erik ten Hag era.

Feyenoord asked United to look after Malacia via a social media post, while a number of United players reached out to the new addition to welcome the defender to Old Trafford.

There was another notable post from an agent at the centre of the deal, Ali Dursun, who also represents Donny van de Beek and Victor Lindelof, as well as transfer target Frenkie de Jong.

Via a post on Instagram, Dursun urged Malacia to ‘smash it’ and said he was proud to have helped the defender clinch his big move to Old Trafford.

Dursun’s message was also ‘liked’ by Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who could end up joining him at Old Trafford eventually.

De Jong’s move to Manchester United is still alive, but at the rate it is going, it will not be done in time for when the club fly out on pre-season tour on Friday.

Marca report negotiations are ongoing. Barcelona feel De Jong does not fit into the wage structure the club are trying to establish and want him to accept a salary reduction in order to stay.

New United manager Erik ten Hag wants to sign De Jong to reunite with him after their success at Ajax together, and Sport report the midfielder’s advisors are recommending to the midfielder that he accepts the move the Manchester.
