Yoro already showed a glimpse of his potential in the early stages when he made a last-ditch tackle to prevent a goal.

He then added another skill to his highlight reel as he played some quality crossfield passes, showing his ability on the ball.

Overall, his calmness and composure stood out as it never looked like he was fazed by the occasion of the game or the opposition trying to unsettle him.

The way he played, like a seasoned professional, impressed Andre Onana who waxed lyrical about him.

He said: “That’s why he’s here [he has lots of talent]. If you want to be a Manchester United player, you must have quality and he’s already shown himself in the first half. He’s a young player, a talented player, good on the ball, so we’re going to enjoy him this season.

“He will [have the temperament], he will, and we’re here to help him. We’re going to give him time, we know he’s going to be alright and we have very good scouts here, so if they made him come, that means he’s got a lot of quality.”

A welcoming dressing room

Joining a club that attracts scrutiny like United at the age that Yoro has is never easy. Many more older and more seasoned professionals have wilted under it.

However, United are currently in a unique position where the major core of the team is all in and around Yoro’s age, making it a nice dressing room to walk into.

The troika of Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho has already been talked about, but Amad, at 22, and now Yoro, at 18, are all around the same age.

It means they can support each other during growing pains and they have the guidance and support of more experienced players like Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez to look up to.

Onana is also a part of that experienced group and has been very vocal and confident since he regained his form, which bodes well for the dressing room.

Ultimately, talent and results trump everything but these intangible make the path to success a bit smoother. United have that right now and Yoro will be better for it.
