It’s been a tricky start to the season for Manchester United, to say the least.
United have had injury issues, off-the-field drama and, most importantly, bad performances which have all come together to create a nightmare start to the campaign.
A lot of it has to be put down to the players. It’s becoming seemingly apparent we have a squad of names who not living up to their potential, not trying hard enough or simply arent up to the standard of Manchester United.
Despite this, there have been a few positives – so with this, here are four players who can hold their heads high so far this season.

Bruno Fernandes
One of the only senior players who looks like he gives it his all still is Bruno Fernandes.
United have a problem this year in regards to doing the dirty work – noone seems to want to run and give their all for the badge.
Bruno is a major exception here. The Portuguese midfielder is literally working so much harder than any other Manchester United player, with Bruno second in distance covered in the Premier League.
Although his performances havent been astounding, you cant fault his work ethic. For that reason, he should be on this list.

Sergio Reguilon
It’s bad when you have to include someone who’s only played two games, but Sergio Reguilon has made a fine start to life at United.
He topped the player ratings for Manchester United with a seven out of ten. Defensively and in atatck he was ace – bomibng up and down that left hand side.
In just short of 200 minutes, Reguilon has shown more heart and desire than half the squad combined.

Rasmus Hojlund
Again… just like Reguilon, aquiring a total of 177 minutes thus far, it’s Rasmus Hojlund.
The reliance on the 20-year-old is simply ludcirous, but so far he’s dealt with the pressure really well. A fine debut cameo against Arsenal, followed by a dissalowed goal agaisnt Brighton and a goal against the Bundesliga champions – we think that’s a fine start for an unproven striker.
He’s only young and needs time to learn, but he’s been impressive so far.

Hannibal Mejbri
Last but not least, Hannibal Mejbri. A player that was destined to break through to the first team sooner or later, he took his chance when he was brought on against the Seagulls.
The Tunisian did more in five minutes than most of the squad did in 90. He unleashed a pile driver soon after coming on which nestled into the bottom corner.
He has only been given his chance once so far – but he seized it. Hannibal should definitely have his head held high when so many should not.
