Amad Diallo has been one of Manchester United’s star players this season.
Erik ten Hag set a challenge for the Ivory Coast international during the pre-season tour. It involved breaking into Manchester United’s line-up, and he took his opportunities.
It wasn’t until Ruben Amorim arrived that Amad Diallo became a regular in the line-up. Now, he’s one of the first names on the team sheet every week.
Amad has signed a new contract, which keeps him at Old Trafford until 2030.
The new deal came as a reward for Amad’s impressive form this term, with 13 goal contributions to his name.
Amad was named on the bench due to illness as United beat Arsenal on penalties in the FA Cup last weekend.

Amad hailed by former Atalanta teammate
There is a lot of excitement around Amad and his future at Old Trafford.
Fans are excited to see how far he can develop as a player, with the potential to reach the very top of the game.
Respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has interviewed Giorgio Brogni, who shared the dressing room with Amad during their time together at Atalanta, playing for the U19s side.
Brogni said Amad always had unique traits and explained how one of his flaws has improved thanks to hard work.
“You could see that in one-on-one situations and in touching the ball he had something unique,” Brogni said. “He was a bit lacking physically, but he made up for it with speed and strength in his legs.
“A flaw in the early days was perhaps the defensive phase , but thanks to work in the youth sector he was already improving. Then it is normal that a player like that needs to be fresh going forward to perform.”
Brogni also revealed how Amad dominated Manchester City’s youth side in the UEFA Youth League, adding: “In our first European year, we beat City, featuring Eric Garcia, Dele-Bashiru, Bernabè and Cole Palmer, 1-3.
“Amad won the MVP award, scoring one goal and setting up the other two. Their full-back, Ogbeta, had a headache for the entire match.”
Amad friendships with fellow Premier League stars
Amad played two players at Atalanta who have also went on to sign for Premier League clubs.
Brogni went on to explain how the likes of Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski and Leicester City’s Caleb Okoli shared the dressing room with Amad.
He added: “Off the pitch we all knew each other, we had a fantastic relationship. In addition to Amad, I played with Kulusevski, Okoli, Carnesecchi, Del Prato and many others. We were very strong but we didn’t talk about the future of abroad.”

It’s clear to see Amad came from a strong youth team when he joined United from Atalanta, which helps explain why the Reds spent big money to secure the deal.
