Former Man Utd loanee has unusual way to help Europa League final preparations, footage emerges from Tottenham training

Like Manchester United, Tottenham are trying to avoid further injury headache ahead of the Europa League final.

Both teams were on the receiving end of defeats in the Premier League at the weekend, which is a perfect summary of their domestic form this season, despite reaching the Europa League final.

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat against West Ham, while Tottenham lost 2-0 despite hosting Crystal Palace. The result put further doubt over Ange Postecoglou’s future and he will hope that winning a trophy will be enough to save his job on May 21.

It’s a different story for Ruben Amorim despite United’s poor results in the league. He’s still the new man at Old Trafford and will be given time to get some of his players through the door before any damning assessments are made.

Sergio Reguilon causes panic in Tottenham training with late tackle

Both teams already have fresh injury concerns going into the final.

United already know Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee will be missing through injury, while Diogo Dalot, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are all likely to face late fitness tests ahead of the trip to Bilbao.

Tottenham have problems too, such as Dejan Kuluseveski, and they will be hoping to avoid more over the coming weeks. Ange Postecoglou will be without James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall and he can’t avoid that injury list piling up.

Former United loanee Sergio Reguilon is still playing for Tottenham and will be taking part in their preparations ahead of the final.

Reguilon spent half a season at Old Trafford, making 12 appearances.

During footage shared by Alasdair Gold, Reguilon is spotted slide-tackling Brennan Johnson and leaving Tottenham’s forward floored for a few moments.

Johnson eventually got back up on his feet and continued training.

It will be the battle of the fittest in Bilbao in a bid to secure Champions League qualification.

Johnson won’t want to miss out on a chance to play in a European final.

The 23-year-old Wales international didn’t show any signs that he picked up a knock from Reguilon’s late tackle, but Postecoglou will want the former United loanee to calm down in future sessions.
