Manchester United have had an encouraging pre-season so far as the general level of performance has improved from last season.
The new energy around the club from Ineos arrival is palpable and with the new coaching staff around Erik ten Hag, there is a real excitement around what can be achieved.
The one factor that has loomed over the club in these bright times is a continuation of last season’s theme, however, which is injuries.
Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro injuries in the game against Arsenal dampened the mood massively and further reports on how long Yoro and Hojlund will be out for weren’t promising either.
Marcus Rashford’s injury vs Real Betis added to the troubles and the hope now is that that the team just gets through the game vs Liverpool unscathed.
Meanwhile, Yoro’s injury, in particular, had led to some worrying reports about his medical history. More clarification has arrived on it now.

Fabrizio Romano on worrying Leny Yoro claims
Some recent reports claimed that other clubs were wary of signing Leny Yoro this summer due to his contentious medical history, claiming that he’s injury-prone.
They claimed that clubs pulled out of the running due to that factor, something which gave United fans a pause on their celebration.
They were easy to believe too, as Yoro’s wiry frame and tall height combined with growing age made it easy to imagine he would suffer from injuries if not handled correctly.
However, Fabrizio Romano, in a recent video, has rubbished claims that any club pulled out of the race or United were worried about his medical condition.
He said: “Manchester United have all the guarantees on how the physical situation is of Leny Yoro, they are not worried in the long term. He’s been really unlucky in that friendly game.
“In general, the medical tests were absolutely perfect. Reports of other clubs pulling out of the race for Leny Yoro because of the physical condition of the player is something I can guarantee is not the case.
“All the clubs wanted to sign Yoro, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Real Madrid, of course. No clubs pulled out. That is absolutely not the case. Yoro has been really unlucky, it’s not an injury that depends on the player.”

Huge sigh of relief
United fans seem to have been permanently scarred by the injury situation of last year, particularly with new signings then, like Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, or Rasmus Hojlund all arriving injured or getting injured soon after their debut.
The whole season was one long nightmare of unavailability and issues cropping up left, right, and center.
The Yoro reports were, therefore, easy to believe as fear-mongering now reigns supreme and the whole fanbase collectively holds their breath when any player goes down.
So this clarification from Romano will do a lot to calm the fans down and prove United right when they were blamed for lacking due diligence in this case.
The hope will just be that the teenager can put this starting setback behind him and look forward to a great first season at the club. He only needs to look at Kobbie Mainoo, who was injured last pre-season on the cusp of a breakthrough but ended it as the first name on the team sheet for club and country.
