Andy Cole has singled out one Manchester United player who has been there for a long time and has said his numbers are just not good enough for a club the size of the Red Devils.
Manchester United suffered yet another damaging 3-0 home defeat, this time to Newcastle United and questions are being asked of Erik ten Hag.
One man who has shown promise this season is Rasmus Hojlund who has scored 3 Champions League goals and has caused problems for the opposition throughout the season.
However, one man who hasn’t pulled up any trees this season is Anthony Martial and the forward looked invisible throughout the game against the Magpies.

Cole on Martial
Speaking on Sky Sports at full time, ex-United forward Andy Cole, who joined the club from Newcastle, believes that Martial has not done enough to prove he is good enough for the Red Devils.
“He has scored 89 goals in nine years. When you are a centre-forward for a club like Manchester United, you know that is not enough goals,” he began.
“Can he take Man United where Man United belong? He has been here for nine years and he hasn’t done it. It is very difficult for him to do it now.”
These questions around Martial have been a constant for years. The Frenchman’s contract is set to expire next summer with no indication on whether he will get a new one.
Martial’s form
The peak of the Frenchman’s time at Old Trafford was under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2019/2020 season as he netted 17 goals and provided 6 assists in the Premier League.
Since then, however, he has not come anywhere near to replicating that form and the Frenchman has had injury issues to go along with it too.
Martial, who joined the club from AS Monaco in 2015, was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia by The Mirror but nothing materialised. A move away from Old Trafford next summer is surely on the cards.
