Ex-Man Utd defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka linked with £10m Premier League move from relegated West Ham

It’s been almost two years since Aaron Wan-Bissaka left Manchester United for West Ham, but the DR Congo international could be on the move again following a disappointing season at the London Stadium.

While Manchester United finished third in the Premier League, marking a significant improvement from their 15th-placed finish the previous campaign, other teams had less to shout about.

There was disappointment for former United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka because he was part of the West Ham side that was relegated to the Championship, despite beating Leeds 3-0 on the final day of the season.

Dropping to the second tier of English football will raise doubts over the future of several West Ham players, with United being linked to Mateus Fernandes. The Portugal international isn’t the only Hammer who could be moving away from London this summer.

Everton prepare £10m bid for West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Wan-Bissaka is one of the many West Ham players who could leave the club to avoid dropping to the Championship.

The Hammers dropped down a division after spending 14 years in the Premier League, so it wasn’t something Wan-Bissaka would have considered when he signed for the club in 2024.

That became a reality over the weekend, but the former United right-back has become one of the first West Ham players linked with an exit since they lost their status as a Premier League club. Those rumours have led to United being linked to Jarrod Bowen as well as Fernandes.

According to The Telegraph, Everton are preparing a £10m raid on relegated West Ham for Wan-Bissaka.

It is understood that the Toffees are in the market for a new right-back, with Seamus Coleman set to depart the Merseyside outfit following 17 years.

Furthermore, Everton are keen to strike a deal for Wan-Bissaka before the 2026 World Cup.

Wan-Bissaka will be representing DR Congo at the World Cup. They have been drawn in Group K with Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia.

However, West Ham reportedly need to raise over £100m in player sales to balance the books ahead of their return to the Championship.

It remains to be seen if Wan-Bissaka will be open to a move to Everton, or if he’ll have other clubs to choose from throughout the summer.

West Ham’s financial issues will be music to United’s ears if they push to sign Portugal international Fernandes from the Hammers.

How much did Man Utd sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka for?

Wan-Bissaka joined United from Crystal Palace for £50m in 2019, before making 190 appearances over five seasons.

West Ham agreed a £15m deal to sign Wan-Bissaka in 2024.

Since becoming a Hammer, Wan-Bissaka has recorded eight assists in 65 appearances.

Only time will tell if David Moyes can convince Wan-Bissaka to move to Merseyside.
