Manchester United youngster Ethan Galbraith has confirmed he is set to leave the club.

It was reported by The MEN this week that Ethan Galbraith will leave this summer as a free agent.

Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Charlie Wellens and Ondrej Mastny are also set to depart when their contract expire, it is claimed.

Galbraith, 22, has now confirmed the news via Instagram, thanking Manchester United for their support.

Ethan Galbraith confirms departure

Ethan Galbraith has been out on loan at League Two side Salford City this season. He previously had a spell at Doncaster Rovers.

His contract is set to expire on June 30 and he has formally communicated his departure from Manchester United.

Writing on Instagram he said: “After 6 years, my time has come to an end with this magnificent club @manchesterunited . I want to thank the club , coaching staff & players for helping me become a better player, a better person and for making me feel at home.

“My earliest ambition as a boy was to become a professional footballer and I’m forever grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity and support to fulfill that dream. It’s been a privilege & I feel very fortunate to have been able to represent the club.

“I step into the next chapter of my career a more mature well rounded person and I’m excited for what’s next…”

Galbraith should have plenty of offers. He has represented Northern Ireland at international level and made one first team appearance for Manchester United in 2019 against Astana.

But at 22, the time is right to move on. Like James Garner and Dylan Levitt, he showed promise at under-21 level and has not quite gone onto make the step up. However, we are confident he will go on to have a strong career elsewhere.

Galbraith’s early exit announcement allows him to focus on finding a new club, and it is possible he may already have one lined up.
