Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is in the running to make his comeback appearance against West Ham on Sunday.
However Erik ten Hag has revealed that the winger is getting closer to a return. During the West Ham press conference, ten Hag admitted Garnacho is in a fitness race.
Garnacho returned to team training last Friday after he put pen to paper on a new long-term contract. The electric Argentine has been out through injury since March’s 0-0 draw with Southampton.

United have sorely missed the 18-year-old’s direct impact on games. Garnacho was enjoying a fruitful breakout year at United contributing four goals and five assists from little over 1,000 minutes.
Ten Hag insisted it will be touch and go as to whether the winger makes the squad for Sunday.
“No, I think it will be the same squad,” ten Hag added, when asked if there was any team news for Sunday’s trip to the London Stadium. “Maybe one player [to add], Garnacho. I have to see.
“Maybe he can be involved but we will have to see how the progress can go.”
What will a Garnacho return mean for United?
Garnacho’s return will give ten Hag another dimension in his attack, a position which has lacked in recent weeks.
The forward loves to take on his defender both inside and out and has been improving his end product all season.
In Garnacho’s absence the attack has looked dysfunctional with Marcus Rashford struggling out wide with his preference to be through the middle.
Garancho will offer ten Hag a natural winger option, something which Jason Sancho lacks on the left. Additionally the Argentina star has proven himself to be a true game changer.
A key player returning at a key stage in the season with the top 4 race heating up. Not to mention the impending huge FA Cup final against Manchester City.
