An Erik ten Hag signing at Manchester United has revealed the major “positive” that came about for him during the 2024-25 Premier League season at Old Trafford.
Manchester United suffered a complete collapse in the 2024-25 league campaign and the Red Devils had their worst finish in the table in the Premier League era.
The Red Devils only managed to finish 15th in the Premier League table and Erik ten Hag’s reign as United manager at Old Trafford also came to an end last season.
Ten Hag oversaw a poor start to the 2024-25 Premier League season and United axed the 55-year-old Dutchman from his post at the Red Devils last October.
The 2024 dismissal of the former United manager paved the way for ex-Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim to replace Ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout last November.
Ruben Amorim left his role at Sporting CP during the 2024-25 campaign and the 40-year-old Portuguese coach oversaw the remainder of United’s previous season.

Man Utd star Mason Mount speaks out on the 2024-25 Premier League season under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim
Mason Mount endured a disappointing 2024-25 campaign at Old Trafford and the ex-Chelsea ace’s second full season with Manchester United was marred by injuries.
The 26-year-old England international only managed 26 appearances across all competitions last season and Mason Mount netted three times for the Red Devils.
Mount did bounce back and did have an impact at times, including scoring a stunning brace for United against Athletic Club in the Europa League in May.
Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, the Erik ten Hag signing insisted that his return from injury near the end of last season was a real highlight for him.
“I look at the end of last season and that was positive for me, to get back in the shape that I was in and be able to play and finish the end of the season off, to get a few goals, and to be back in and amongst the lads,” he said.
“That’s the most important thing.”
Mason Mount sends a message to Man Utd fans amid pre-season and ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign
Mason Mount has been part of Ruben Amorim’s pre-season tour with the United first-team squad and he has now made his feelings clear ahead of the new season.
“We’re all in this together, and I think this period now is so important for us to spend together to train,” he said.
Mount added: “But yeah, personally, I’m feeling really good. I feel like I’m in a really good place at the moment.
“I’m so excited for the start of the season.”
Mount arrived at Old Trafford in 2023 under former United manager Ten Hag, with the Red Devils signing the Three Lions star from Chelsea for an initial fee of £55m.
