Erik ten Hag provided an injury update after Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Midfielder Donny van de Beek was forced off before half-time after a poor tackle, looking in clear pain.

Meanwhile Anthony Martial was substituted midway through the second half, with a less serious problem.

Ten Hag has provided an injury update on both players, speaking to MUTV after the match.

Injury update on Van de Beek

The Manchester United manager expressed his concern for Van de Beek, but also said it was too early to provide an accurate diagnosis.

He said: “It’s too early. We have to wait for the medical team to do their job. But it doesn’t look good.

“It’s bad news for Manchester United if its a bad injury.”

Van de Beek was making a rare start, just his second in the Premier League this season.

Injury update on Martial

Ten Hag was more optimistic on Anthony Martial, declaring he expected him to be back in his squad on Friday against Everton.

The manager explained that Martial had just suffered a knock to the face: “I think he will be good. He will be fine. He continued the game so I hope he will recover overnight and be fresh for Friday.”

United can’t afford for Anthony Martial to be out of action, due to the lack of strikers in the squad. He has already dealt with various injuries this season.

Fortunately it appears this is very minor – but it highlights the need for United to sign another goalscorer.
