Erik ten Hag has named three reasons why he believes Marcel Sabitzer will “perform strongly” for Manchester United.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Red Devils on loan on deadline day from Bayern Munich, was at Old Trafford last night as he watched his new teammates beat Nottingham Forest 2-0.
The 68-time Austria international wasn’t able to make his bow for the twenty-time league champions because he is still completing his visa process.
With Donny van de Beek already ruled out long-term, the Reds moved swiftly to bring the former Red Bull Leipzig midfielder to the Theatre of Dreams following the news that Christian Eriksen would be ruled out until late April with an ankle injury.

Following the arrivals of Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst, Sabitzer became United’s third loan signing of the January transfer window.
And while Ten Hag never came up against Sabitzer during his time in charge of Ajax, the 52-year-old has been a keen admirer of the Austrian from a far.
Sabitzer could be available to make his United debut in their next match against Crystal Palace, if his paperwork is completed, and the three-time Eredivisie winner is backing the Austria international to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Speaking in last night’s post-match press conference after United had booked their place in this month’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United, the Dutchman said: “I know the player already a long time from [RB] Salzburg. Especially from [RB] Leipzig.
“He performed fantastically, so I expect that he will do the same here.
“I think he has a great attitude; he is at the right age, and I am sure this opportunity will motivate him greatly and he will perform strongly for us.”
