Manchester United’s midfield has been heavily criticised this season, much to Erik ten Hag’s dismay.
Manchester United‘s boss has been insistent on the midfield not being at fault for games in which it was overrun.
He instead explained that it was ‘the back and the front’ which was causing the problems at Old Trafford.
Despite this he has decided to strengthen the department with both Mason Mount and now finally Sofyan Amrabat.
Amrabat is believed to be travelling to Manchester today for media duties with the club, he could also be with the squad tomorrow however won’t be on the bench or playing due to his late arrival.

Erik ten Hag picks his best midfield
With no Amrabat, it is likely we see a familiar midfield line-up on Sunday.
Speaking with Sky Sports, Erik ten Hag explained the midfield trio he has seen perform best for United.
“When we play with Casemiro and Eriksen and Bruno we are very successful,” he argued.

A point which is correct, given the fact his team have picked up 42 points from 17 games with that three in midfield.
To make things worse, only 39 points have been picked up from 24 games without one or more of the three.
Midfield should no longer be an issue
Assuming he goes with the trio of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen against Arsenal, Ten Hag feels he has solved the problem.
He insists the issues have been worked on over the last few weeks and therefore we should see a solid United at the Emirates on Sunday.
However most fans will be eager to now see Sofyan Amrabat in action given the midfield control he will bring.
We will have to wait until after the international break for this to happen though, as he isn’t available tomorrow.
