Erik ten Hag believes he is the right man for the Manchester United job in a passionate interview ahead of the clash against Chelsea.
Manchester United head into the game with the pressure building on the players and indeed Erik ten Hag following Saturday night’s rather uninspiring defeat to Newcastle United.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea will be the visitors to Old Trafford tonight and a win for the Argentine over the Red Devils would pile further pressure on the Dutchman.
After a comfortable victory over Everton last weekend, the pressure looked to be off but just 9 days later, questions are being asked again.

Ten Hag’s belief
Well, the Dutchman, speaking to the media ahead of the clash against the West London side, believes he is the right man for the job and pointed to his record at previous clubs as evidence of this.
“There will always be tough times in every journey,” he told reporters. “We are in the right direction. I know we will get there where we want to be. Because – see my record.
“Everywhere where I was, every season, I got my targets. If we stick together, stick to the plan and the strategy, we will get where we want to be.”
There’s only so long the Red Devils fans can wait and deal with the poor performances before their patience will run out.
Fans’ patience
Following the rather bizarre 24 hours where journalists have been banned from the Dutchman’s press conferences, it’ll be interesting to see the atmosphere at Old Trafford.
Usually, when a United manager’s back is against a wall, the Red Devils fans tend to find their voice and do their best to will the team on.
United will need all the support they can get at Old Trafford tonight because the atmosphere would be rather toxic if the Red Devils were to lose their 11th game of the season in all competitions.
A win, however, could be the vital kickstarter the team and the manager have been waiting for.
