Manchester United and Erik ten Hag head into the international break in sixth spot in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag has made the most of what has been a seriously unfortunate start to the 23/24 campaign for Manchester United.

There has been injury issues in the first-team squad, problems with the owners amid the takeover saga and more controversies than any club in world football should ever have to deal with.

All you can say is fair play to the manager, it’s been one of the most hectic starts in the club’s history. United sitting in sixth is by no means a bad position, considering the issues he has faced, heading into the international break.

Manchester United are the only club in the Premier League with no draws

After 12 games played, Manchester United are the only side in the Premier League to not draw a single fixture.

This comes after a crazy fixture on Super Sunday, where Chelsea drew 4-4 with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer‘s ice-cold late penalty ensured that Manchester City dropped two points in London and subsequently led to Ten Hag’s side being the only team in England’s top flight to avoid a one-point fixture this season.

This explains Manchester United’s favourable league position

This really does explain why the Red Devils are so high despite some seriously shocking performances.

Although some of the teams surrounding United have played significantly better football, they also have been on the receiving end of far more stalemates – which ultimately means two points dropped apiece.

Interestingly enough, last season Ten Hag also only had six Premier League draws, with only one team in Manchester City (5) having fewer.

It’s a stark contrast from seasons prior to this, with United usually the side to rack up frustrating draws against lower table sides.

Ultimately, it’s a very promising sign. This record is reminiscent of a Sir Alex Ferguson side (with a few less victories). The Scotsman hardly ever drew league fixtures, which always resulted in a far more favourable points tally.

If Ten Hag can keep grinding out wins, United will only fly higher in the Premier League rankings. Although, the next 10 fixtures do look a little worrying.
