Manchester United’s players are back for pre-season as Erik ten Hag begins his second year in charge at Old Trafford.
Did you miss them? Manchester United’s players have barely been away, and now they are back for a hectic pre-season schedule with eight matches plotted out.
Not all players are back yet. The squad currently consists of non-international players and youngsters, or those who ended last season injured, which can be a positive, as it gives them a little headstart.
Manager Erik ten Hag was pictured addressing the group of players at Carrington as he worked through the first training session.

Anthony Martial in good spirits
Like it or not, Anthony Martial is back with a smile. The Frenchman ended last season injured and missed the FA Cup final.
He did not complete 90 minutes once last season and is not a player Manchester United can rely on.
Nonetheless, at present he is the club’s only senior striker, and even if United sign another forward, Martial could still have a role to play, fitness permitting.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Last season he was impressive in pre-season before suffering an injury which ruled him out of the start of the Premier League campaign.
Young players at Carrington
One of the encouraging aspects of pre-season is always seeing the youngsters try to make an impression and this year is no different.
Midfield duo Isak Hansen-Aaroen and Hannibal Mejbri were both pictured, and each of them will be looking for minutes in upcoming games.
Hansen-Aaroen’s presence is notable after United blocked him from joining up with Norway’s under-19 squad for the European Championships which have just begun.
Ten Hag is intrigued to see what he is capable of, and he will be determined to grab the opportunity.

New signing Mason Mount was pictured during his first training session too, after clinching his move to Manchester United earlier this week.
He was welcomed by Lisandro Martinez, setting aside memories of their clash last year.
