Manchester United fans and Ruben Amorim won’t be feeling thankful generally for all the opinions (read: noise) surrounding ex-players but Eric Cantona remains in a league of his own.
At a time when most ex-Man Utd players contribute, and add to the circus that surrounds the club and fuel negativity, Eric Cantona stands apart.
Cantona has always been outspoken and, for the lack of a better term, weirdly intellectual and aware about general issues.
He’s just sent his strongest anti-Glazer message yet in what will come as music to the ears of Man Utd fans, although Sir Jim Ratcliffe won’t be much pleased with it.

Eric Cantona sends anti-Glazer message
Talking negatively about the Glazers used to be persona non-grata at Old Trafford for a long time by the ex-players.
That changed when Sir Jim Ratcliffe came on board, and the likes of Gary Neville started taking shots at the American family directly.
However, Cantona was someone who always stood up for the fans’ cause, further endearing himself to the fanbase with his brutally honest takes.
In his strongest anti-Glazer message yet, Cantona has become a founder-member of FC United of Manchester, a club formed by disgruntled United fans when the Glazers committed their unethical takeover of the club.
Signing the documents, Cantona said: “The Cantona family, we’re all members of United FC and all the people from all around the world should be members because it’s a great club.
“Young history but a great history. I hope we will share the membership of United FC!”
Cantona backs up Sir Jim Ratcliffe disappointment
This is not new territory for Cantona, who has previously expressed disappointment at how Ineos have run Man Utd as well.
From talking against redundancies to voicing his opinion on loved Utd receptionist Kath Phipps, Cantona has repeatedly talked about the club’s soul being stripped away under Ratcliffe.
This action to bring more eyeballs to a club which, in United’s eyes is effectively a rival is unlikely to go down well with Ratcliffe at a time when there are questions surrounding the team.
Sir Alex Ferguson once infamously called FC United of Manchester fans not real fans of Man Utd so there is no love lost in this feud.
One of United’s greatest-ever players, Eric Cantona, has chosen his side in spectacular fashion.
