After an extended wait time for his visa to be approved, Lisandro Martinez has been unveiled as a Manchester United player.
Lisandro Martinez became the third Manchester United signing of the summer, following Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen, who was announced a day earlier.
Martinez told the club website: “It’s an honour to join this great football club. I’ve worked so hard to get to this moment and, now that I’m here, I’m going to push myself even further.
“I’ve been lucky enough to be part of successful teams in my career and that’s what I want to continue at Manchester United.”

Edwin van der Sar sends message to Lisandro Martinez
Manchester United’s 2008 Champions League winning goalkeeper and current Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar led the congratulations to Martinez on his move to Old Trafford.
He thanked Martinez for his time at Ajax and promised him he would enjoy continuing to work under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
Van der Sar was not the only one to congratulate Martinez, who wrote an emotional goodbye message to the Dutch club on Instagram.
Former Ajax teammates Ryan Gravenberch and Brian Brobbey were among those to wish him well, along with Tottenham defender Cristian Romero, an Argentine international teammate of Martinez.

It appears Martinez has left a big impression on those he played with and worked for, in a short space of time.
This should be evident by Erik ten Hag’s push to sign him, the second time he has done so. If he enjoys the same success he has had at Ajax, then United are onto a winner.
