Dion Dublin comments on Erik ten Hag’s full focus and influence on United players

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is ‘all business’ in his pure focus to help Manchester United recapture past glories.

Ten Hag picked a strong side as United ruthlessly dispatched Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the City Ground.

Forest had been in good form, particularly at home, but were blown away by a superior Manchester United team.

Former United striker Dion Dublin believes Ten Hag deserves all the credit, as his driven approach is influencing the team’s performances.

Ten Hag focus praised

Speaking to MUTV’s post-game coverage, Dublin explained that he is a fan of Ten Hag’s serious approach in post-game interviews, and how he conducts himself behind the scenes.

He said: “He’s never laughing and joking, I don’t want to see that. He’s always focused on the job at hand and making sure his players are too.”

Ten Hag’s predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was often mocked online with viral clips of him smiling after a defeat, fairly or unfairly, it was questioned whether he had the real drive to win which Ten Hag clearly does.

The MEN reported how Solskjaer even apologised for smiling after United’s 4-1 defeat to Watford, a game which led to his sacking 24 hours later.

While Solskjaer’s positivity was reason for his initial success as he lifted the players, Ten Hag is taking a more methodical approach, and so far it is reaping consistent rewards.

Before the game Dublin praised the focus of the United players as they arrived at the City Ground. He said: “I like that the players aren’t laughing and joking. They said hello and that’s it.”

United players had a job to do, and did so very efficiently. There is little time to lose focus either, with games being scheduled at a relentless pace.

It’s not like Ten Hag is a dictatorial manager turning his players into robots either. Man management is one of his strengths, he just has them fully focused on the most important aspect of football, winning.
