Dimitar Berbatov names the two current Man Utd players he would love to play alongside, one is ‘the guy’

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is one of the more unique strikers the club have had in the past two decades.

Dimitar Berbatov is a three-time Premier League title winner, playing for Manchester United during the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Berbatov linked up with a few of his Manchester United colleagues for a charity game in South Korea, including Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

The Bulgarian joined the former centre-back duo on Ferdinand’s YouTube channel to catch-up, reminisce, and talk about the current United team.

Dimitar Berbatov praises two United stars

During the chat, Dimitar Berbatov was asked by his two former teammates which Manchester United current player he would like to have played alongside.

Berbatov admitted there were two players who stood out, neither of who he could possible ignore.

He named Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo as two who really stand out for him due to their special qualities.

Berbatov explained: “You can easily say Bruno Fernandes, in my case. I look first for the guy who is making the special pass, or some improvising like this. 

“You can see Kobbie Mainoo coming into that way of having that confidence of just give me the ball, i know what to do.

“He’s 19, but he plays with the belief that he’s 30 or something. The body language how he moves on the pitch.

“How he passes the ball, even how he scores the goal from time to time. he’s showing ‘I’m the guy’. This is good to have, you need to have this self belief on the pitch.”

Berbatov added: “We have talent in the team,” just adding that he wished the players were able to throw it more consistently.

Manchester United without both Fernandes and Mainoo this week

This week Manchester United take on Fenerbahce in the Europa League, without both Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

Fernandes is set to miss this game due to a one-match suspension owing to his red card in the last game in the competition, away at Porto.

Meanwhile young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is out with injury, after picking up a knock before the international break.

United must find a way to cope without the pair, who combined to score the winning goal in the FA Cup Final last season.
