Dimitar Berbatov revealed his powerful reaction to Bruno Fernandes’ sensational link-up with Matheus Cunha for one key Manchester United assist this season.
The 45-year-old former Manchester United striker appeared on the Red Devils’ official podcast ahead of the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Michael Carrick’s men travelled to the Vitality ahead of the March international break after Man Utd defeated Aston Villa 3-1 in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes produced a United masterclass against Aston Villa earlier this month and Matheus Cunha was the recipient of one of the midfielder’s two assists.

Dimitar Berbatov explains what Bruno Fernandes offers a forward after his Man Utd assist to Matheus Cunha
Manchester United took the lead against Aston Villa in the second half after Bruno Fernandes’ superb corner-kick was converted by Casemiro’s headed effort.
Ross Barkley cancelled out Casemiro’s second-half opener 11 minutes later, but Fernandes played a key role in restoring the Red Devils’ advantage on the day.
Fernandes played an exceptional through-ball to carve apart the defence and an onrushing Matheus Cunha burst into the Villa half in United’s counterattack.
Speaking on Inside Carrington, Dimitar Berbatov explained why Man Utd captain Fernandes was able to unlock such a sensational pass to Cunha against Villa.
“You know that assist that he gave [in] the last game, was it, to Cunha, slicing the defence with that pass?” Berbatov asked.
“I mean, this is, you can straight away see the talent, the eye for the goal, the reading of the game.
“The reading where the defenders are, seeing where your teammate is, showing him with your pass where he needs to run, or him showing you and you give the ball straight away.”

Why Man Utd cult hero Dimitar Berbatov thinks Bruno Fernandes is the perfect player to play behind a striker
Cunha finished off the move that Fernandes engineered as Man Utd’s No 10 after the summer signing expertly curled the ball around a helpless Emiliano Martinez.
United sealed a huge three points over top-four rivals Aston Villa earlier this month after in-form striker Benjamin Sesko scored the Red Devils’ third of the contest.
Berbatov insisted that Fernandes would be the ideal No 10 that he would love to play alongside because of the 31-year-old midfielder’s desire to play the ball forward.
“And this is the type of player, as a striker, you love to have, because [in] his mind, [the] first thought is I need to play the ball forward,” he added.
United’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last Friday evening was the Red Devils’ final Premier League tie before the March international break.
