Manchester United’s hopes of signing David Raya in the summer have been boosted amid claims he has rejected a new contract.
Spanish journalist Alvaro de Grado reports Raya has turned down Brentford’s offer of a contract extension.
The Telegraph reported last week that Manchester United are tracking Raya, whose deal at Brentford expires in 2024.
The newspaper reports Raya could be available for between £15-20 million in the summer.

David Raya a sensible option for United
Raya, 27, is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, particularly strong at passing the ball out.
This is the biggest issue with David de Gea‘s game, and the Manchester United goalkeeper reminded people of this with a disappointing display against Arsenal at the weekend.
Journalist Alvaro de Grado reports the most likely outcome of Raya’s situation is a sale in the summer.
United are not the only top side interested, with The Telegraph reporting both Tottenham and Chelsea are keen.
David de Gea’s contract at United is set to expire this summer. His future is unclear, but at international level, he has already been displaced by Raya.
United have also been linked to Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa, with The Athletic reporting interest, however, he is likely to cost three or four times as much as the fee required to sign Raya.
Brentford signed Raya from Blackburn Rovers for £3 million in 2019, so they stand to make a profit by cashing in this summer.
