David de Gea and Jonny Evans were both on the same wavelength after Sir Alex Ferguson crossed paths with a fan-favourite Manchester United cult hero.
Both Jonny Evans and David de Gea played under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and the pair enjoyed major success under the Manchester United legend.
De Gea arrived at the Premier League club under Ferguson’s watch after the Red Devils signed him from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2011.
The 34-year-old Spaniard was part of the last United team to lift the Premier League title in the 2012-13 campaign under former manager Ferguson.
Evans, meanwhile, came through the ranks of the United youth academy before he received his first-team debut under Aberdeen legend Ferguson.
The 36-year-old United centre-back lifted three Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy and two League Cups during his time under Ferguson.

De Gea and Evans react to Ferguson’s encounter
Manchester United cult hero Nani took to social media on Wednesday and revealed that he had been in the “special company” of Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 38-year-old Portuguese former winger was a fan favourite during his time at Old Trafford and Nani showed moments of brilliance for the Red Devils.
During his spell at the Premier League club, Nani captured four Premier League trophies, a Champions League title and two League Cups.
Nani, who arrived at United in 2007 from Sporting CP, netted 41 times and registered 70 assists in 230 appearances for the Red Devils.
Posting photos of him alongside Ferguson, the United cult hero wrote on Instagram: “Delicious breakfast – this time in Portugal – with the great and special company of Sir Alex Ferguson.
“Amazing time, great memories. See you again soon, Boss.”
Both David de Gea and Jonny Evans were in the comments and the pair felt the same way about their former United teammate linking up with Ferguson.

Nani ended football career in December
Nani had returned to his native homeland of Portugal in 2024 after he signed for Estrela da Amadora following his brief spell with Turkish side Adana Demirspor.
The former Portugal and United winger announced earlier this month that he would call it time on his career after an “amazing ride” in football.
“The time has come to say goodbye, I have decided to finish my career as a professional player,” he wrote on Instagram.
“It’s been an amazing ride and I wanted to thank every single person who has helped me and supported me through the highs and lows during a career which lasted over 20 years and gave me so many unforgettable memories.
“Time to turn a new leaf and focus on new goals and dreams. See you soon! Obrigado. Thank you. Gracias. Grazie. Tesekkurler.”
