Manchester United legend David Beckham and Harry Maguire both wasted no time in reacting to Harry Kane’s milestone achievement for England after the win over Finland.

Bayern Munich star Harry Kane was met with criticism in the summer after a lacklustre campaign with England during Euro 2024 in Germany.

Kane scored three times for the Three Lions en route to the final of Euro 2024, but the Three Lions captain’s overall performances were brought into question.

Gareth Southgate stepped down as England manager in the aftermath of Euro 2024, with the Three Lions losing 2-1 to Spain at the Olympiastadion in Berlin in July.

Lee Carsley stepped up as interim manager of England after Gareth Southgate’s departure and Kane retained the armband for the start of the Nations League.

Kane’s message after England win

Harry Kane started the Nations League opener against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday and played 84 minutes in the 2-0 win at the Aviva Stadium.

However, the 31-year-old former Tottenham striker was unable to add his name to the scoresheet in England’s Nations League victory in Dublin.

Kane returned to the starting XI on Tuesday evening for the clash against Finland, with the Bayern Munich striker earning his 100th cap for England.

The Three Lions skipper made an impact in the Nations League encounter after his second-half brace sealed all three points for Lee Carsley’s men.

Kane took to social media and shared a photo of the special cap that he was presented with ahead of kick-off to mark his 100th appearance for England.

The former Manchester United target wrote on Instagram: “100 caps. Beyond what I dreamed of as a kid.

“So proud and I loved being able to share it with my family.”

Beckham and Maguire react to Kane’s post

David Beckham wasted no time in taking to Instagram and the United legend congratulated Kane on reaching his milestone achievement with England.

“Well deserved and a huge milestone congratulations. Well done mate,” he wrote in the comments.

United star Harry Maguire, much like Beckham, felt the same way about Kane’s success with England and his Three Lions teammate earning his 100th cap.

“Love it,” he wrote, adding a heart emoji.

Jadon Sancho, who left Old Trafford in the summer and signed on loan for Chelsea, echoed Maguire’s sentiments with his own response to Kane’s post.

“Congratulations H,” he posted, adding a heart emoji to his comment as well.
