Danish expert comments on ‘insanely fast’ Manchester United player ahead of Copenhagen match

Manchester United have been testing the patience of fans this season and a win is desperately needed tonight.

It is not uncommon for teams to take a few weeks to gel when the season begins. But as we reach the final week of October, Manchester United are barely showing signs of life.

A big Champions League night under the lights at Old Trafford has the potential to act as the catalyst for change, especially ahead of the weekend’s Manchester derby.

This could be a huge week, with Danish side Copenhagen standing in our path tonight, Rasmus Hojlund’s former club.

Rasmus Hojlund assessed

Rasmus Hojlund has had a mixed start to life at Manchester United since he joined the club in early August.

An injury delayed his debut until September, and his impact has been mixed. Frustratingly, he has no goals in six Premier League games so far, despite coming close, even having one ruled out in his first home match.

In the Champions League, it’s a different story, where Rasmus Hojlund is the competition’s joint-top scorer with three goals in two matches. That’s something for United to be positive about, and believe the Premier League goals will come.

Danish journalist Oliver Lund gave his perspective on Rasmus Hojlund’s Manchester United start, and believes he will come good with time, pinning his blame on the wider dysfunction at the club.

Lund told Bold.dk: “I don’t think United’s attacking aces are hitting at the moment. Rashford doesn’t seem that sharp. I don’t immediately think that Hojlund has been a great success in the short term, but it is also clear that he must have time.

“After all, he is booming, insanely fast and has good feet. But in the short term, he also comes to a team that seems like they are out of step, so I definitely see that there are chances for FCK.”

Manchester United bottom of the group

Manchester United enter this game in a weak position, bottom of the group after defeats to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

A win will lift us up into third place, needing another victory in the follow up game away at Copenhagen too.

Then there will be an away trip to Galatasaray and a home game against Bayern Munich. There is a chance we fall short in those matches – but Erik ten Hag‘s side need to at least give themselves a shot with two wins over Copenhagen.

The Danish side will feel they have a chance against United, they have been competitive in the group so far, and won’t be pushovers tonight.
