One Manchester United man will be feeling a range of different emotions heading into the Champions League fixture on Tuesday.

Manchester United and Erik ten Hag got over the line at the weekend with a win. They beat Sheffield United thanks to goals from Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot.

Their next Premier League game is a big one, against Manchester City. However, in between then, United will continue their Champions League campaign – with a trip to Old Trafford to face Copenhagen.

One Manchester United man – Rasmus Hojlund, will be having conflicted feelings heading into this.

Why Rasmus Hojlund will be having mixed emotions vs Copenhagen

Rasmus Hojlund has more than just footballing ties with the Danish club.

He graduated from Copenhagen’s youth academy, making his first-team debut for the club aged 17 in October 2020.

The Superliga side gave him his big break before he made the move to Atalanta in 2022. He will forever be indebted to them for their firm belief and overall care in moulding him into the striker he’s becoming today.

But not only this – it’s also a family affair. Both of Hojlund’s brothers, twins Emil and Oscar – both play for the Danish club.

They are both showing real promise in FC Copenhagen’s youth setups and have even been treated to some more first-team game time as of late.

Will the Hojlund brothers play against each other?

There is a possible scenario that all three Hojlunds could be on the pitch at the same time in the Champions League clash.

It is unlikely, as the twins are on the fringe of the first team, but never say never. They’ll most certainly travel to Manchester.

Let’s see what pans out. This could be an emotional night for the Hojlund’s.
