It’s been nearly a week since reports emerged linking Manchester United with Dan James.
Now it appears a deal for the Swansea City winger is getting closer.
The Mail report there are only a few minor details left to sort out between United and Swansea, with a deal set to cost just £10 million.
It adds: “United are also on the verge of agreeing personal terms with the 21-year-old.”
This would be good business to get a deal done so quickly, and especially if the £10 million claims are true.
It had been speculated that James could end up costing double that.
£10 million is a fair valuation for a player with very limited experience, albeit with outstanding potential.
He fills a need for United on the wing, but hopefully there are more arrivals in the position too.
Signing a young player quickly is also symbolic for the strategy Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to take this summer.
It’s encouraging if United can get the deal done by the start of next week.
