Former Manchester United man Cristiano Ronaldo is still one of the world’s most prolific goalscorers.
Since Ronaldo departed Manchester United in 2022 after the monumental fallout with Erik ten Hag, the Portuguese footballing icon embarked on an all-new continental adventure – setting his sights on the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr.
Since joining the Middle Eastern side, the United legend hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. In just 68 games, Ronaldo has bagged himself a simply ludicrous 62 goals.
And, apparently, he doesn’t want to stop hitting the back of the net any time soon.

Cristiano Ronaldo reveals how many goals he wants before retiring
CR7 recently revealed to fellow Manchester United megastar Rio Ferdinand that he wants to obtain a grand-spanking 1000 goals before retiring from professional football.
The 39-year-old, who has recently just started his own YouTube channel, sat down with Rio to discuss his future on Wednesday, and spoke about the staggering tally.
He said: “I am the best goalscorer in history, but I will put the level even higher. Soon I will do 900 and after I will be at 1000. I want to reach 1000 goals.”
Ferdinand replied, with a quite profound statement: “F****** hell”. Yep, us too Rio.
How many goals is Cristiano Ronaldo currently on?
Ronaldo is currently on 899 goals – which means he still needs a whopping 101 before he retires if he wants to reach his milestone.
| Club | Games | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Real Madrid | 438 | 450 | 131 |
| Man Utd | 346 | 145 | 64 |
| Juventus | 134 | 101 | 22 |
| Al-Nassr | 68 | 62 | 17 |
| Sporting CP | 31 | 5 | 6 |
| Total | 1,017 | 899 | 240 |
When will Cristiano Ronaldo retire?
The big question. As mentioned previously, the footballing icon looks to show no signs of slowing down, and given the shape he’s in – the machine that Cristiano is could go on for some time.
He does acknowledge his ageing in the podcast, stating that: “I don’t know when I’m going to finish. Of course, I’m closer to finishing than not but I still feel I can keep going.
“I know that I still look good. I can still pass, dribble and shoot. The day I can’t, I’ll stop,” Cristiano concludes.
It will be a sad day for football that’s for sure, although something tells us we’ll still definitely be waiting a fair while until Ronny bids farewell.
