Gary Neville remains unconvinced over the idea that Manchester United need to bring one Premier League player he knows very well to Old Trafford this summer.
Erik ten Hag has seen a major shake-up to his Manchester United first-team squad in the first summer transfer window under Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
French defender Leny Yoro arrived at Old Trafford from Ligue 1 side Lille and Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee was signed from Serie A outfit Bologna in July.
Erik ten Hag was also reunited with two more former Ajax players this summer after Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui both signed for United.
United agreed a deal worth nearly £60m to bring former Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui to Old Trafford in August.
Ten Hag is set to secure his fifth major signing this summer with Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte set to arrive at Old Trafford.
United have also axed several first-team players in the summer window, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Hannibal Mejbri, Mason Greenwood and Donny van de Beek.

Neville on Man Utd ‘piece of business’
Speaking to Sky Sports, Gary Neville is not convinced that Manchester United need to sign a player like Raheem Sterling before the transfer window shuts on Friday.
Raheem Sterling has been deemed surplus to requirement at Chelsea and Blues boss Enzo Maresca does not have the 29-year-old winger as part of his long-term plans.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool star has been frozen out of the first team at Chelsea and is tipped to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
United have been recently linked with Sterling and it is believed that the Red Devils have held ‘exploratory talks’ over the possibility of securing a deal for the player.
“I love Raheem Sterling, I worked with him very closely with England when I was there,” Neville said.
“But I’m not sure why Manchester United would see that as a piece of business.”
Neville talks Sterling and Man Utd
Neville added that Erik ten Hag already has a stacked roster of players to choose from out on the wing, including the likes of Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho.
The Sky Sports pundit insisted that United need to focus on bringing four players “into form” rather than adding Sterling to their ranks.
“Looking at their squad, they’ve got players who they want to get the best out of – they’ve got Amad, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Marcus Rashford who play in those areas,” Neville continued.
“If they’re losing faith in one or some of those players, then maybe they would sign Sterling. But it doesn’t strike me as an essential signing for Manchester United.
“They’ve got four players in those areas who they need to play into form.”
