Confirmed Manchester United line-up v Wolves: Phil Jones starts first game since 2020

Manchester United have named the team line-up for the club’s first match of 2022.

United take on Wolves at Old Trafford in a game kicking off at 5.30pm.

Here is a look at how United line-up. The big news is the return of Phil Jones, playing his first game since the win over Tranmere in January 2020.

Starting XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Jones, Shaw, McTominay, Matic, Sancho, Greenwood, Ronaldo, Cavani

Substitutes: Henderson, Rashford, Fred, Lingard, Fernandes, Dalot, Telles, Elanga, Van de Beek

United’s previous game with Wolves was a hard fought game at Molineux early in the season with Mason Greenwood netting a late winner.

Ralf Rangnick is looking to maintain his unbeaten record as United boss, and make it four wins from five league games.

Tonight’s opponents Wolves have only played once over the festive period, a 0-0 draw with Norwich.

After this game United have a break until the following Monday night’s FA Cup third round tie at home to Aston Villa.
