Manchester United hired recruitment expert Christopher Vivell to benefit from his expertise and it could not have been more perfectly timed.

Ineos added to the brain trust behind the scenes at Manchester United earlier this month with the hire of recruitment guru Christopher Vivell to the club.

Vivell has come in specifically for the transfer window, which may be a role which develops into something more substantial.

He brings with him a serious track record of making big signings, none more so than his successful acquisition of Erling Haaland to Red Bull Salzburg.

Manchester United want ‘next Haaland’

Vivell helped to convince Erling Haaland to sign with Salzburg from Molde, at a time many top bigger club were pursuing the Norwegian.

Branded the ‘the Haaland discoverer’ by Sport1, Vivell explained how he convinced the striker to join by delivering a clear pathway to first team football.

Now, Vivell is in prime position to repeat his famed acquisition as Manchester United track a young striker with an outstanding goalscoring record.

Chido Obi-Martin has been dubbed ‘Arsenal’s own Erling Haaland’ by Goal.com after the teenager scored 32 goals in 19 games. This came in addition to him netting 10 times in one match at under-16s level.

Now the 16-year-old has decided to quit Arsenal, and is strongly considering joining Manchester United, report The Athletic.

Obi-Martin is set to make a decision on his future next week. HITC report the striker has agreed personal terms with United and the club are optimistic he will choose to sign with them.

Potential Chido Obi-Martin deal exciting for United

Christopher Vivell is not the only figure who will have a key part to play in the Vivell deal, yet his past experience at landing a coveted, exciting centre-forward is clearly going to come in useful as the Red Devils look to close the deal.

Manchester United also have famed striker Ruud van Nistelrooy on the coaching staff, who Obi-Martin could relish learning from.

This is a potential deal which could pay off for United for many years to come, without immediate expectations.

How good would it have been if Manchester United had the foresight to sign Erling Haaland back when he was a teenager?

Former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recommended a deal for Haaland, yet United lacked the nous, vision or expertise to get a transfer done.

Now with Vivell at work behind the scenes, the opportunity to land the ‘next Haaland’ looks to be an chance United appear determined to grab.
