Christian Eriksen scores long range stunner in Denmark defeat

Christian Eriksen is a man in form right now, who has been superb since signing for Manchester United. The one thing he has not done yet, is score a goal for the club.

He showed there is nothing wrong with his scoring boots by netting a long range stunner to equalise for Denmark against Croatia in their UEFA Nations League clash.

You can watch the goal below, it was a special strike…

Sadly for Eriksen after hauling Denmark back into the game, Croatia scored a 79th minute winner just two minutes after his equaliser.

Eriksen can say he did all he could, with a Luka Modric inspired Croatia coming out on top to win 2-1.

Eriksen stars for Denmark

Eriksen was playing as part of a front three for Denmark, rather than in the box to box role he has been performing in for Manchester United.

He ended the night with three shots on target, scoring with his most difficult effort of all, with a curling strike which gave the goalkeeper no chance.

Eriksen played all 90 minutes, touching the ball 76 times in the clash with the 2018 World Cup finalists.

On the same night Raphael Varane played all 90 minutes in a win for France over Austria, Manchester United fans will hope Eriksen gets a rest at the weekend.

France and Denmark are scheduled to play each other in Denmark on Sunday night in the UEFA Nations League.

This will be both players’ final match of the international break – but it would be even better if their coaches decided to mix it up, and give the pair a rest.
