Savage wins player of the month
Savage was selected as Forest Green’s player of the month for February, winning 82 per cent of the vote, per their website.
The arrival of Savage has been welcome, with Forest Green sitting bottom of League One, six points adrift.
It is a difficult position for a young midfielder to come into, making competitive football for the first time in his career, right in at the deep end.
While Savage is still looking for his first win, Forest Green drew away at Lincoln in his last game. This weekend they face relegation rivals Accrington.
The young midfielder impressed for Manchester United in pre-season, but did not make a first team appearance under Erik ten Hag.
He made his debut in 2021 as a late substitute under Ralf Rangnick in a Champions League draw against Young Boys, with dad Robbie Savage on commentary.
While there is a lot of work for the teenager to do to push on and have a career at Manchester United, his challenging loan spell is off to a bright start.
