Casemiro responds to Rio Ferdinand
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro responded to a message from Rio Ferdinand lauding his performance.
He said he was ‘honoured’ to receive praise from the former centre-back.
Casemiro’s performance came fresh off his World Cup agony with Brazil, which he described as the most painful defeat of his career.
He even played at centre-back last week in the win over Burnley, showing how he could extend his career further, in a few years time.
Tonight it was great to see him back in midfield, where he had 104 touches and created three goalscoring touches.
United never really looked in trouble, and after a long wait for a defensive midfielder, we might just have got the best in the business.
