Manchester United took on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League tonight, winning comfortably.
Here is a look at our player ratings from the 3-0 win…
David de Gea – 6.5
Not the cleanest first half when he chose to make a save with his chest and stayed on his line for Forest’s disallowed goal. Improved in second half and was solid when called upon. Much better than Martin Dubravka.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7
No assist this time but was rarely troubled defensively. Linked the play well and is temporarily at least, salvaging his Manchester United career.
Luke Shaw – 7.5
Looked comfortable at centre-back. In his first game back from the World Cup he played out of position and excelled.
Raphael Varane – 7.5
Fantastic to see Varane back. He was dominant at set pieces and a lot of the credit for Shaw’s display should go to how easy the Frenchman made it for him. Played 76 minutes.
Tyrell Malacia – 6.5
Showed good attacking intent early on, had an early shot saved and tried to get into the box, but faded in the second half.

Casemiro – 9
Great to see him back in midfield, won the tackle leading to United’s second goal. Helped United to control the game and was everywhere, even late on as others tired. Provided a late assist for Fred’s goal.
Christian Eriksen – 8
Perfectly executed corner for United’s opener. He has quickly shaken off his World Cup woes. Booked.
Bruno Fernandes – 7.5
Worked tirelessly off the ball. Showed some quality in possession and came close to scoring a spectacular long-range effort.
Marcus Rashford – 8
A class act. Scored United’s opener and provided an assist soon after. He is now on 10 goals for the season.
Antony – 5
Not anywhere near as sharp as Rashford. Should have scored early in the second half. At least got into good positions.
Anthony Martial – 7
An excellent outlet in attack and he kept up his strong scoring record for the season. Scored his 100th club career goal
Subs:
Donny van de Beek – 6
A flicker of hope for Van de Beek after his snub in midweek, getting a good half hour here. He saw one shot blocked.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7
Lively when he came on, keen to take players on and create chances. Creates space for others with his willingness to run with the ball. Booked.
Fred – 7
Played just 15 minutes and still managed to get on the scoresheet.
Harry Maguire – 6
Played just 15 minutes and helped United see out the game with a clean sheet.
Anthony Elanga – N/A
Played just the final four minutes.
