United win quarter-final
Manchester United’s resilience led to the come from behind win, following on from the fifth round victory over West Ham.
Bruno Fernandes scored twice and Marcel Sabitzer netted another, his first ever goal for the club.
United had to do it all without Casemiro, who was beginning his four-game domestic suspension after a harsh red card last week.
Casemiro showed his approval with a ‘strong arm emoji’ reacting to Manchester United’s win.
It was important for United to get this victory without Casemiro, ahead of the three remaining Premier League games after the international break.
It will have hurt Casemiro to sit this game out, and he will be relieved United went through, and that he has another chance to play at Wembley, this time in the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton.
United’s remarkable run continues
United have won every single game of this FA Cup run by a 3-1 scoreline.
Everton, Reading, West Ham and Fulham have now all lost 3-1 to United, with all four games taking place at Old Trafford.
The semi-final and final will be held at Wembley. With a bit of luck, another two 3-1 wins await.
