The Old Trafford faithful are preparing to bid farewell to a classy club servant as Casemiro plays at the Theatre of Dreams for the final time as a Manchester United player.
Manchester United host Nottingham Forest in what will be the final home game of the season, before travelling to Brighton for the last Premier League fixture of the 2025/26 campaign.
Casemiro will leave United at the end of the season after announcing his departure in January. He exits after helping Michael Carrick’s side secure Champions League qualification.
Although Casemiro won’t be part of United’s Champions League squad next season, the former Real Madrid star is backing Carrick to remain in charge beyond the expiration of his interim deal.

Casemiro reflects on Man Utd fans ahead of emotional exit
In an interview on Rio Ferdinand Presents, Casemiro speaks about a range of topics, including the love he has felt from fans during his time in Manchester.
Casemiro came to United having won everything at Real Madrid, but his professionalism was second to none.
The 34-year-old won two trophies during his time at Old Trafford, including the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. He missed out on winning the Europa League following a disappointing defeat against Tottenham in the final last year.
Casemiro explains to Rio Ferdinand that the best thing about United right now is the fans.
“The fans,” Casemiro said.
“I played a long time in Madrid and I lost games. In the next game… it’s very difficult. And here, it doesn’t matter.
“Support. Support, help every time. For me, it’s a big surprise. For me, the best thing here is the fans. Every time, help, fans. Support, support, support, support. It doesn’t matter the game.
“I remember the game against Lyon. We lost 3-1, I think. And the fans… Help, support, help, help, help. And we changed the game. But I think… The thing most surprising… It’s my opinion. It’s my opinion. The thing most surprising, the best thing in this club is the fans. The fans here. It doesn’t matter the game. It doesn’t matter if you draw, you lose, you win. Every game.”
Casemiro added: “I think maybe because of this. I play in Madrid. I know, you lose there. I swear, it’s very difficult. Because it’s about this. The player from Madrid needs help. Because you need to be strong. You need to be strong in the head. And here, you lose in the next game, support again, support again, support again.
“I love it, I love it. It’s unbelievable for me.”
Casemiro carefully acknowledges he didn’t get the same level of support from Real Madrid fans, despite achieving far more success in Spain.

Why Casemiro left Real Madrid for Man Utd
Ferdinand asked Casemiro about his decision to leave Madrid for United in 2022.
Casemiro said his decision stemmed from winning the Champions League for a fifth time and requiring a fresh challenge.
“No, but the last time I won,” he said.
“And I remember in that moment, it’s normal. You think it’s normal to win the Champions League. And you think, oh, it’s not normal to win the Champions League. So for me, in this moment I won, I think I need change. I need a new challenge. I need a new challenge in my career. And the most important thing is I go home, I ask for my wife.”
Casemiro went on to say it was the best decision of his career, leaving his family very happy.
“Very happy. The best decision in my career. Because, of course, I play in Madrid. For a long time, the best decision. But I come and the club, the fans, the city, give what I need. What I need.”
