Former Real Madrid star Casemiro has shared his true feelings on one major moment of his Manchester United spell under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
Casemiro had been written off early in the 2024-25 campaign and the former Real Madrid midfielder was tipped with a potential exit from Old Trafford.
But the 33-year-old Manchester United star has seen a spark in form under Ruben Amorim and Casemiro has established himself as a key United first-team player.
Casemiro, who is under contract with United until 2026, has played in 38 matches in the current campaign and he has scored four times and picked up three assists.
The Brazilian midfielder has had a resurgence in form in the 2024-25 Europa League season and Casemiro’s European experience has been invaluable for United.
Casemiro made an impact against Athletic Club last Thursday in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals after he opened the scoring in the 3-0 win for United.
Athletic Club hosted United at the San Mames Stadium last week and the La Liga club were reduced to 10 men after Dani Vivian was sent off in the first half.

Casemiro reveals special Europa League moment in Man Utd’s win over Lyon under Ruben Amorim
Manchester United are within touching distance of the 2025 Europa League final and the Red Devils will face Athletic Club in their second-leg tie on Thursday evening.
Ruben Amorim’s men also failed to reach the Europa League semi-finals in the first place before United’s sensational comeback win against Lyon at Old Trafford.
United blew a 2-0 lead over Lyon and the Red Devils came from 4-2 down in extra time to win the second-leg quarter-final tie 5-4 to secure their place in the last four.
Casemiro picked up a stunning hat-trick of assists during his superb display against Lyon and the United star couldn’t hold back his feelings during the match.
The United midfielder was spotted on his knees and then lying on the floor after the Red Devils’ comeback win and Casemiro talked up “those moments” in his career.
“I will always remember those moments because it was such a difficult game, but these are the games that mark you as a footballer,” he told United Review, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“They are the reason you play football. After the game, you say, they are the games you live for, and so these are the games you remember forever.”
Casemiro’s incredible praise for Man Utd fans ahead of the Europa League semi-final clash with Athletic Club
Casemiro shared a heartfelt tribute for the support from United fans this season and their spine-tingling presence during the 2024-25 Europa League run.
“It isn’t normal how they support us and help us,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“The other night against Lyon was an unforgettable night in my career and something incredible, an incredible game.
“They always support us — whether we are playing well or badly. When I get home, I speak with my family or my inner circle about what the fans are like here.
“All I can say, from my heart, is thank you very much. If they didn’t support us like they do, it would be even more difficult, so the thing we have to say to everyone who comes to games here, and to the whole city, is it’s something incredible.
“So, all I can say is thank you, thank you very much.”
United and Athletic Club’s second-leg Europa League semi-final tie is slated for an 8pm UK kick-off time at Old Trafford on Thursday.
