Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been named in the Cameroon squad for the international break.
Out of form and under pressure, Andre Onana is under the spotlight at Manchester United after a tough start to life at Old Trafford.
He retains Erik ten Hag‘s support, with the Manchester United manager speaking highly of the goalkeeper
Ten Hag told club media: “I have to talk with more players, but I also have to talk with Andre of course. I will do and I will back him, because he’s a great goalkeeper.”

Andre Onana in Cameroon squad
Andre Onana’s shaky form at club level has not prevented him being called up into the Cameroon international squad.
Cameroon announced the squad over the past 24 hours, for friendly fixtures against Russia and Senegal, which will take place in Moscow and Lens.
The fixtures take place on October 12 and October 16, after Manchester United’s upcoming game with Brentford, and before the clash away at Sheffield United on October 21.
Andre Onana return was not a one-off
When Andre Onana signed for Manchester United, he was out of favour with Cameroon’s international set up after a fallout with coach Rigobert Song at the World Cup.
Then in late August, Cameroon managed to persuade Onana to make a return for their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.
Cameroon won the game, qualifying for the tournament in early 2024.
If there was any doubt that his return was a one-off, it’s gone now, with his latest call-up, assuming he accepts it.
A change of scenery this month could do Onana a favour. He is going through a tough spell on the pitch with Manchester United, and it’s possible international football might lift his spirits. We can only hope.
