Bryan Mbeumo claims one Man Utd player is way better than people realise in training

Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo has named his most underrated teammate in training.

Bryan Mbeumo enjoyed a decent debut season at Manchester United following a £71 million transfer from Brentford last summer.

There is one game left to play in the Premier League, against Brighton on Sunday, but Mbeumo made 32 appearances and scored 10 goals.

United will have more fixtures next season after securing Champions League qualification, so that Mbeumo will be targeting more goals.

Bryan Mbeumo hails underrated Joshua Zirkzee

As he completes his first season as a United player, Mbeumo has had plenty of time to familiarise himself with his teammates.

Mbeumo hasn’t been at his best since returning from AFCON earlier this year, with the same criticism applying to Amad Diallo, but he will still finish the campaign among United’s top scorers.

Speaking to Sky Sports about his United teammates, Mbeumo named Joshua Zirkzee as the most underrated player in training.

“Josh,” Mbeumo said.

“Because of the way he can link with the players. He’s such a strong guy, it’s really hard to take the ball when he’s covering the ball. And obviously good finishing, powerful shots, so I was really impressed.”

Unfortunately, United fans have not seen enough evidence of that in competitive games.

Zirkzee has scored just two goals in 25 appearances for United this season.

The Netherlands international faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford ahead of the summer transfer window.

Roma remain interested in Joshua Zirkzee

Roma signalled interest in Zirkzee back in January, but a move never materialised as he remained at United.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to Zirkzee about a move midway through the season, but he has not given up.

The report suggests Gasperini has earmarked a role for Zirkzee as a left attacking midfielder.

It remains to be seen if Roma can reach an agreement with United over a deal to secure Zirkzee’s signature.
