You had to feel a little sorry for Barnsley when Manchester United made a triple substitution after an hour.

With Manchester United leading 5-0, Erik ten Hag sent on key player Bruno Fernandes to inflict more damage.

Fernandes did exactly that, turning the screw on Barnsley to ramp up the scoreline for Erik ten Hag’s biggest ever win as Manchester United manager.

The Portuguese star was keen to get in on the act and add to his own statistics, and not be left behind by Alejandro Garnacho.

Bruno Fernandes provides two assists

Christian Eriksen scored Manchester United’s sixth and seventh goals to make Manchester United’s win appear even more emphatic.

Bruno Fernandes provided both assists, setting up his midfield teammate, who looks to have rediscovered his confidence.

Fernandes tried for even more. He managed to create the most goalscoring chances on the pitch despite playing just 30 minutes.

Fernandes simply outstanding

Bruno Fernandes’ performance was outstanding, with the midfielder stamping his class on proceedings.

It may have been against an already-defeat Barnsley side, yet the level in performance really was an illustration of just how good he is.

Fernandes is a class act, and while he is still searching for his first United goal of the season, he leads the team with four assists.
