Bruno Fernandes dropped heartfelt messages to two first-team Manchester United players after Ruben Amorim’s men defeated Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils played the last match of their poor 2024-25 Premier League season only days after Manchester United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the 2025 Europa League final in Bilbao last Wednesday ahead of returning to Premier League action on the weekend.

Ruben Amorim’s men missed out on Champions League football via the Europa League and will be without any European football for the 2025-26 campaign.

United hosted Aston Villa at Old Trafford and the Red Devils made the breakthrough against Unai Emery’s men in the second half of the Premier League contest.

Amad Diallo put the Red Devils 1-0 up in the 76th minute before second-half substitute Christian Eriksen dispatched a penalty for United in the 87th minute.

Villa were reduced to 10 men against United before half-time after Emiliano Martinez was sent off for his reckless last-ditch challenge on striker Rasmus Hojlund.

United have ended their abysmal 2024-25 season with their worst placement in the Premier League table since the inception of England’s top-flight league in 1992.

Bruno Fernandes reacts to Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof after Man Utd’s win vs Aston Villa in the Premier League at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim brought Christian Eriksen off the bench in the 66th minute and replaced Mason Mount in Sunday’s 2-0 Premier League win.

Eriksen, who signed for United in 2022 on a free transfer after his exit from Brentford, will leave the Red Devils in the summer once his contract expires.

Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof started the Aston Villa match and saw out the full 90 minutes in the three-man backline for Amorim’s tactical system for United.

The 30-year-old Sweden captain, much like United teammate Eriksen, is out of contract with the Red Devils in June after the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Bruno Fernandes was able to share the pitch with both Eriksen and Victor Lindelof on the final day of the season after starting for United at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old United captain took to Instagram Stories and paid tribute to former Tottenham and Ajax ace Eriksen ahead of his teammate’s club exit this summer.

“Thanks for everything, Danish lad,” Fernandes wrote, adding a raised hands emoji and a heart emoji.

Fernandes also shared a touching message to Lindelof by praising the ‘Iceman’ and admitting that it was a “pleasure” to play alongside him at the Red Devils.

“[Ice]man, [it] was a pleasure,” he posted, adding a heart emoji.

Fernandes said that he is “living” his dream at United and he has been “very lucky” to fulfil an important thing that he always wanted to do by playing for the club.

“It is just the way I deal with things, I want to help as much as I can,” he told MUTV, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“I am just living my dream. [I am] just a very lucky guy who is living his dream in one of the best clubs in the world, in the best league in the world. What more can I ask?

“I just have to give it my all, for my teammates, for myself, for my fans and for everyone who has been through every moment with me. That’s all.”

Fernandes impressed for United in the 2024-25 campaign and the Red Devils skipper signed off the season by scoring 19 times and picking up 20 assists in 57 matches.
