Bruno Fernandes is the only Manchester United nominee for the Best FIFA Men’s Award.

Since signing for Manchester United in 2021, Bruno Fernandes has consistently been one of the most influential players in the team, picking up multiple individual awards.

Fernandes was voted United Player of the Year for a fourth time at the end of the 2024/25 season, despite it being a disappointing season for Ruben Amorim’s side.

United finished 15^th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, United’s results have improved in recent times, and they are now unbeaten in four Premier League matches.

Fernandes has been asked to play a deeper role in midfield under Amorim, but he is still having a huge influence on games, creating chances and showcasing an incredible work ethic.

The lists of nominees for the various individual awards that make up The Best FIFA Football Awards have been released for 2025.

Split into core categories – such as Best Goalkeeper and Best Coach – The Best FIFA awards are voted on by fans from around the world.

However, voting ends on November 28, and there is one United player in contention for an award.

Fernandes has been nominated in the midfielder category along with 21 others, including former United midfielder Scott McTominay, who won the Serie A title with Napoli last season. Those with the most votes will be named in The Best FIFA Men’s 11.

Although it has been a disappointing year for United, Fernandes has remained a key player and he stayed at Old Trafford despite offers from Saudi Arabia during the summer.

Other awards include FIFA Men’s Player, Coach, and Goalkeeper.

Bruno Fernandes could make history in prestigious XI

The Best FIFA Football Awards began in 2016, although it was known as the FIFA World Player of the Year before then, after starting in 1991.

Since it was rebranded as The Best FIFA Football Awards, David de Gea is the only United player to be selected for the ultimate XI for his performances in 2018.

That means Fernandes could become the first United outfield player to make the team.

One factor that could go against Fernandes is that he didn’t win any trophies for United last season, and he is up against players who competed in the Champions League.
