Bruno Fernandes has been crowned Manchester United Player of the Year for a second consecutive season.

The Manchester United captain has been the club’s best signing of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, arriving in 2020 from Sporting CP.

Nowadays, Bruno Fernandes is recognised as one of the best midfielders in the world.

Aged 30, Fernandes is looking to add another trophy to his haul at United, having previously won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup under Erik ten Hag.

Ruben Amorim’s side have a chance to win the Europa League next week when they take on Tottenham in an all-English final. It’s a chance for two underperforming Premier League outfits to secure Champions League football.

With the Red Devils sitting 16th in the league table, there won’t be many awards for United’s first-team, but we have finally discovered this year’s winner of the Player of the Year award.

Bruno Fernandes joins Man Utd duo with POTY awards

Manchester United fans voted to determine the winner of the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.

Bruno Fernandes was voted winner for a fourth time to equal the record set by David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international was the overwhelming favourite to retain the trophy after a disappointing season for United.

It was impossible to look past Fernandes, who sets high standards on the pitch, even when others fail to reach them.

Fernandes’ incredible form has become the norm for him, which is why he gets harshly criticised by some pundits.

He will be aiming to finish the 2024/25 campaign by winning the Europa League.

Bruno Fernandes record bodes well for Europa League final

Fernandes is on the verge of becoming a United legend with his leadership, but winning another trophy would help his quest to achieve that status at Old Trafford.

In March, Fernandes became the player to score the most penalties in Europa League history – a figure which has further grown now to 12 following the ties against Lyon and Athletic Club.

Fernandes also became the first player in Europa League history to register 30+ goal contributions in the knockout phase, doing so in 32 games.

These stats show Fernandes always turns up when he is needed in the big knockout games.

Amad Diallo wins close range for Goal of the Season award

United fans have also been voting for their Goal of the Season award.

The accolade goes to Amad Diallo, who enjoyed an incredible breakthrough season in which he became one of the team’s key players.

The Ivory Coast international finished top of the public poll after his effort in December’s Manchester derby.

Amad showed great composure to control a pass from Lisandro Martinez, before sending his effort past City goalkeeper Ederson.

The strike against City was one of 10 goals Amad has managed across 40 games this season.

Mason Mount finished second in the poll after his long-range strike against Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-finals.

Third place went to Kobbie Mainoo for his equaliser against Lyon in the Europa League quarter-final win over Lyon.
